Mikel's father abductor re-arrested

A woman, Hauwa Mustapha, who was alleged to have played a major role in the abduction of the father of John Mikel Obi, the Chelsea midfielder, has been re-arrested by the police in Kano.

Hajia Hauwa Mustapha, who resides at the Ring Road by Bye Pass area of Kano, was this time around, arrested by detectives in the state for her involvement armed robbery, according to the police.
The police disclosed that the suspect, alongside other persons identified as Isa Sani , Sabiu Abdullahi, Mohammed Yakubu ,Hassan Mohammed and Bashir Sulieman armed themselves with offensive weapons such as guns, knives and stormed a residence in the Dambare Quarters of Kano State.
Kano State Police Commissioner, Alhaji Ibrahim K Idris who paraded the suspects said that they robbed the occupants of the building of a Mercedes car, three GSM sets, one laptop, one TV Plasma and cash of N147,000.00k among other valuables.
He also disclosed that Hajia Hauwa Mustapha, alongside her accomplices, was traced to Jos, Plateau State, where they were arrested by detectives on 5th July , 2015.
He disclosed that following their arrest, an on the spot search conducted on them led to the recovery of two locally made pistols ,nine live ammunitions, a knife and some the loot that were stolen in the said Kano robbery.
The police boss stated that the suspects had since confessed to the commission of the crime adding that they disclosed that the stolen vehicle had been disposed to a buyer in one of the North west states.
He disclosed that the investigation is in course with a view to recovering the rest of the stolen items and arresting some of the suspects that are currently at large for immediate prosecution.
