will be handed Arsenal’s No 10 role on a permanent basis next season as
Arsene Wenger looks to coax the best from his £42million man.
The
club’s record signing hasn’t hit the heights some have expected since

The Germany star has struggled for consistency while playing across the midfield at the Emirates
But
the creative midfielder will be handed the central attacking role
behind the main striker next term which means Alexis Sanchez will be
deployed on the wing next season, despite impressive displays through
the middle at various times during his impressive debut campaign.

tried to land the Argentina international on two previous occasions.

Arsene Wenger has hinted at signing another winger and is a long-term admirer of Angel di Maria (centre)
The
South American’s future is unclear at Old Trafford after a difficult
first season at the club following his £59.7m switch from Real Madrid.
United would be reluctant to sell to a direct rival, while his reported £280,000-per-week wages would be beyond them.
Nevertheless,
if Di Maria is obtainable, the Gunners would be interested provided a
deal would fit into their financial framework.
Carl Jenkinson has penned a new deal at the club but will be loaned back out to West Ham next season
Meanwhile, defender Carl Jenkinson is in line for an improved contract, despite heading out on loan this summer.
The Gunners will offer the defender a new contract, which will include an increase on his current £35,000-per-week wages.
West
Ham are leading the race to take the former Charlton man on a second
consecutive season-long loan spell ahead of next season.
