A seminar for 400 level students of Imo State University, Owerri, held today at the school's auditorium. It was a seminar organized by the school's Department of Research and Linkages in collaboration with the University of Skovde, Sweden.
The seminar was to tell the soon graduating students about the opportunity they have to further studies (ie Masters) in the University of Skovde, Sweden at 50% discount scholarship.
Speaking at the event, the Imo State University Director of Research and Linkages, Prof. Val Obinna advised the students to open their minds to opportunities and go all out for their dreams. He said this while making his open remarks. He recounted the exploits of Mr. Linus Okorie who was once a student of IMSU and who began from his year one to make efforts towards his dreams of becoming a leader and today he is public figure of repute.
Mr Aloysius Nnaji(pictured above) was the resource person sent to represent the University of Skovde in the seminar. Mr Nnaji who also hails from Imo state said he came to expose the opportunity for students of IMSU so that they can key into it after obtaining their first degree.
He said the Skovde University in Sweden was of high educational standard and that the school is among the best in the country. He also noted that Swede is a nation of lots of innovations stating that most of the ideas that made America's Silicon valley what it is today came from Sweden. He enjoined the students to take advantage of the opportunity to run their Masters degree program in the Skovde university (est. 1977)
The tuition fee for the Master's programme in the university is 31,250 Swedish Krona. 1 Swedish Krona equals 23.50 Nigerian Naira. You can do the maths to get the equivalent of the tuition in Naira. However, with the 50% discount that Mr Nnaji came with, the interested students will have to pay half of that money.
