Guidelines
  • Writers must send their submissions to: contest@freeditorial.com
  • All submissions for the contest entry must be sent to Freeditorial in Microsoft Word format (docx.) as an attachment.
  • In the body of the email, the submitter must write their full name, country, email address and postal address. They must also indicate if they want to publish their submission with a pseudonym instead of their legal name.
  • A submitter may want to include an attractive synopsis to their submission in the body of the same email, so that Freeditorial can use it as an introduction to their story.
  • Each participant may have one submission per contest, and will promote it as they see fit to make it known to as many potential readers.
  • The writer may be a citizen and resident of any country in the world.
  • Long-Short Stories must be fiction or historical and written in English. The writer is free to choose the topic.
  • The book must have a minimum of 10,000 words and a maximum of 40,000
  • Freeditorial will inform the participant once the story is published, and will provide an account and login credentials so they can monitor the performance of their submission with readers. This will help the participant when developing strategies to promote their work.
  • Readers around the world will have access to free downloads of the submissions on Freeditorial website. During the contest, Freeditorial will display submissions, ranking them by number of downloads, in descending order. This information will be updated daily.
  • At the end of each contest, all the submissions will remain available to readers under “Short Stories” category on Freeditorial platform.
  • The winners of the contest will be announced on the Freeditorial Homepage on Thanksgiving Day.
  • There is no fee to participate in Freeditorial Contests.
  • Winners will be chosen according to the following criteria:
# Number of downloads and quality of work: Freeditorial measures the level of interest among readers through the number of unique downloads obtained by each submission. Repeated downloads from the same IP address will not count, thereby ensuring accurate and fair ranking system. Submissions that reach the last week of the contest with other similar or comparable numbers of downloads will be forwarded to Freeditorial literary advisers to judge furthermore based on literary quality.
# Promotion of your work: participants can promote their work as they see fit and should use creativity and put in necessary effort get a maximum number of readers and downloads.
